Satley homes and show grounds
There are so many Craft fairs around the country of late, but where can you see a demonstration in blowing glass that includes an explination of the techniques and the history of how it developed. Glass blowing is an instant and dynamic art. Glassblowing is an art that has been developed over thousands of years but what is unusual. Glass work is more than an education it is a discovery of glass art or decorative glass It is an adventure of re-discovering of glass techniques that have been lost in time. To pass on the secrets of making glass would have certainly cost you your life during the reign of the pharaohs or Venetians
The glass blowing demonstrations are an opportunity to witness and to feel the heat of the furnace. See our calendar of events for the year. We will be touring most of England. Those with previous glass experience may see things that remind them of their past and stop for a chat and reminisce their years in the great glass factories Stuart Crystal, Whitefriars Langhams, Dartington, Pilkington, and Waterford.
Glass blowing demonstrations run every hour over two days in a workshop environment and offer a introduction to glass making. The glassblowing examples we have put together show different glass making techniques. We combine this with strands of history. The experience should give you an understanding and gain a feel for working in glass and appricate the basics of glassblowing, from a qualified glassworker. All the work is for sale and is a unique piece of lost art.
